Abstract
This paper describes a method of displaying the result of fluid simulation,with direct volume rendering based on 3D texture technology of OpenGL.After the 2D fluid simulation model of Jos Stam is extended to a 3D model,the density field of model can be mapped to a 3D texture space for the real-time rendering;then global illumination model is used to provide a.At last this paper presents a comparison between 3d texture method and particle system of rendering cloud and smoke,to analyze the advantage of our method in the effect of display.
