Abstract

In this paper,using azobisisobutyronitrile( AIBN) as initiator and toluene as a solvent,styrenemaleic anhydride copolymer are prepared by precipitated process for polymerization. The detailed study of the monomer ratio and concentration on the polymerization effect( molecular weight,yield) has been carried out.Moreover,the molecular weight of products has been compared by adding the chain transfer agent or not. The copolymer is also characterized by IR,the polymer viscosity average molecular weight measurement.
