Abstract
Broadband Media Gateway (BMG) as a terminal equipment of high-performance broadband network is up to connecting home network with residential network. It is the home's network . multimedia center, and have many new functions. This paper introduces a BMG's hardware and software architecture, then several key technical issues are described. The system adopts the architecture of network SOC + multifunctional media processor and The system software adopts module hierarchical architecture. Every software layer has specific function and implements inter-layer function exchange through interface program call.
