Abstract
The novel People of the Deer embodies ecological holism which reflects the close relationship between human beings and other species in Canadian polar regions,shows that stable ecological chain ensures the existence of the natives,and the intrusion of the whites breaks the ecological chain and endangers the life of the natives,and it also urges people to assume ecological responsibility and conduct ecological compensation so that human beings will not become ecological refugees.
