Abstract
With the pressure for sustainable development,returning home of migrant workers and coming of predictable post-industrial society,how the city turned into a magnet from a container is becoming an urban development issues to Shanghai and many other cities.From empirical illustrations that Montreal,Canada and Brescia,Italy and other cities make use of event economy to achieve urban transformation,the article combined with the relations between urban development and event management in order and discussed the mode of action.Taking Shanghai as an example,it outlined proposals that make use of events,self-organization events and creative talent to launch the urban transformation.
