Abstract
Objective:To assess the clinical effects of uterine arterial embolization(UAE) in the treatment of uterine isthmus pregnancy.Methods:Twenty patients undergoing UAE for their uterine isthmus pregnancy were studied retrospectively.Results:UAE was applied on the 20 cases successfully and got a good result.Two patients received UAE after massive hemorrhage,and the other 18 cases received UAE before curettage or second curettage.No obstetrical hysterectomy or severe complications followed in all the cases.Conclusion:UAE is an effective,minimally invasive and safe method for the treatment of uterine isthmus pregnancy,which should be the first choice for patients with uterine isthmus pregnancy.
