Abstract

Maize was sprayed with different concentration choline chloride during seedling stage.And then treated with 10% PEG for 3 d.Result showed that in comparison with full watered and 10% PEG,the content of chlorophyll in maize seedling spried with choline chloride increased,while the level of malondialehyde in maize seedling and the leakage of electrolytes from maize seedling treated with choline chloride decreased.The content of Chl and translocation of material to roots increased in maize seedling treated with choline chloride.Choline chloride avoided water loss,and aided drought survival for maize seedling.The above results indicated that the choline chloride had effect on increasing drought-tolerance in maize seedling under drought stress.
