Abstract
This paper describes Chinese student loan scheme in institutional structure and operating flow, analyzes the operation mechanism of student loan schemes in the United States and Canada. After that, the paper explores different roles and functions of governments and market in student loans and discusses the problems to be solved in the Chinese case.
