Abstract
： Based upon Ericksen Leslie's elastic theory and dynamic theory, responsive time parameter of the in－ plane switching liquid crystal displays is analyzed and the pretwist alignment is introduced into this mode, the dynamic equation of the director in this mode is given. The relation of the transient transmittance and pretwist angle is obtained by calculating the instantaneous distribution of the director in this mode. The computational result demonstrates: there is a high responding time in IPS liquid crystal cell with pretwist angle.
