Abstract
The germination test for 7 Maize varieties was conducted under PEG 6000 stress.The experimental results showed that plant height,leaf area,root length,root number,germination rate,seedling drought survivability,fresh seeding weight,fresh root weight,root-top ratio,water loss rate of excised leaf of all varieties decreased compared with those in normal water.There are significant differences among 7 varieties.The drought stress resistance of 7 Maize varieties were evaluated comprehensively by water stress index analysis.Yuyu 28,Zhongke 4 and Xiuqing 73-1 were high drought resistance in germination and seedling stage.
