Abstract
An experimental investigation was conducted to visually observe the boiling in individual water droplets on heating surfaces.Using a high-speed video imaging system the evaporation and boiling of a droplet was recoded to the dynamical evolution.Infrared ray temperature measuring technique was employed to investigate the instantaneous characteristics of heat transfer when the droplet was boiled.Two factors,surface property and droplet size,were observed to have significant influence on the boiling.
