In the present paper one new record genus, one new record species and a new species of the genus Megathrips from China are described. A key to Chinese species of the geuns Megathrips is provided. The type specimens are deposited in Baotou Landscape Research Institute of Inner Mongolia (BLRI). Megathrips Targioni-Tozzetti, rec. nov. Megathrips Targioni-Tozzetti, 1881, Annali di Agricoltura, parte Scientifica, 34: 120. Type species: Megathrips piccioli Targioni-Tozzetti, 1881. Head elongate, less than 2.5 times as long as across eyes wide and scrulptured transversely behind compound; interocellar, postocular and mid dorsal head setae well developed, interocellar setae is the longest; cheeks with several pairs of capitate spins. Antennae eight-segmented, segment Ⅲ elongate, segment Ⅷ lanceolate. Moth cone broadly rounded; maxillary stylets fairly long, when at rest retracted to the middle of the head, spaced fairly wide apart, not touching in the center of the head. Basantra present; major prothoracic setae well developed; anterolateral setae displaced from anterior margin toward midlateral setae. Foretarsal tooth absent in female and with a minute tooth in male. Forewings broad, with accessory setae and basal wing bristles. Pelta with broad lateral lobs connected narrowly and sculptured, without pore; anterior pair of wing-retaining setae on each tergite reduced. Abdominal tergite Ⅵ in the male with a pair of long, tubular lateral processes and Ⅷ with lateral spines; abdominal tergite Ⅸ with major posterior setae less than one-third as long as tube long, hair; tube (tergite Ⅹ) long, hair; anal setae much sort than tube. The genus is similar to Megalothrips, but can be distinguished from the latter by: 1) the close placement of the anterolateral setae to the mindlateral setae; 2) the widely spaced maxillary stylets. Distribution: American (California, south and west to Colorado, Minnesota, northern Illinois), Australia, Canada, New England, Korea, Iraq (Crete); Europe.1. Megathrips lativentris, rec. nov. (Fig.2) The new species is similar to M. lativentris, but can be distinguished from the latter by: 1) abdominal pelta Ⅰis divided three part, two lateral lobe completely separated from the center pelta; 2) fore femora brown; However, M. lativentris, 1) abdominal pelta Ⅰnot divided into three part, two lateral lobe connect narrow of the center pelta; 2) fore femora black.
