Abstract
The colonialism of France and Britain,National Policy of Canadian federal government and county's economy's dependency on the international market,gave rise to different types of urban places emerging in each stage of Canadian history.The micro-factors such as cultural tradition,geographic location,techniques and initiatives of city-controlling classes also affected the city's development.By studying the features of different cities and their causative factors,this article attempts to reveal the relations between cities on the one hand,and Canada as an immigrant country and the characteristics of its national economy on the other.
