Abstract
This paper describes factors in seed germination of Acanthopanax sessiliflorus(Ruor.et Maxim.)Seem.The water permeability of seeds was good enough to support seed germination.There are some inhibitors in the sarcocarp,seed coat and endosperm,and the inhibitory effect of the extracts from endosperm was stronger than others,sarcocarp was the second and the seed coat the last.When seeds matured,the embryos were not fully differentiated which were in the cardioid stage.To complete differentiation and growth of the embryos,the seeds must be stratified under warm conditions,then under cold conditions for the physiological after-ripening.
