Abstract
Based on the worldwide tendency of the narrowing fluctuation of business cycle in developed countries,and the high level convergence of China's business cycle,the paper gives a new interpretation on the concept of market growth,and draws the conclusion that the narrowing fluctuation of business cycle is a dynamic trend in all countries.Compared with planned economy,market economy shows better performance in dealing with agency costs,which is one of the most important reason that result in the trend.The proposition is further tested and supported by using quarterly data from 31 OECD countries from the first quarter of 1991 to the fourth quarter of 2007.Finally,policy suggestions are proposed based on the conclusions.
