Abstract
Based on an observation of the development of Western contemporary architecture,the essay focuses on current debates between“critical”and“post-critical”.It then argues that the surfacing of this interesting divergence of opinions does not so much constitute a conclusion to a story,but rather a beginning.The last section of this essay calls for a much more careful reflection before a new operative theory of practice can be achieved.
