Abstract

ADPCM speech compress method,detailed in Recommendation G.726,is widely used in digital audio communication.In this paper,an improved algorithm of G.726 encoding process is introduced.The new method has been programmed in Visual Studio 6.0 platform and tested to be feasible.It can ameliorate the quality of compressed speech signals in low bit rate without increase the cost of bandwidth.
