Objective To discuss the silent cerebral infarction(SCI) and its relation to cognitive function.Methods Cognitive function was assessed with Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA) in 55 cases silent cerebral infarction patients diagnosed by brain CT or MRI and 31 cases normal control group.Cognitive function and its various indicators were observed.Images of the 55 cases were analyzed.Results The incidence of cognitive impairment in 55 SCI patients is significantly higher than the control group(P 0.05).And scores of the visuospatial/executive,attention,abstraction and orientation in the silent cerebral infarction group were significantly lower than that of the control group(P0.05).Besides,scores of the naming,calculation,language and delayed recall were lower than that of the control group,but the two groups had no statistical significance(P0.05).Conclusions The silent cerebral infarction patients have cognitive impairment,which mostly displays damage of visuospatial/executive,attention,abstraction and orientation.
