Abstract
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a condition that develops when the reflux of stomach contents causes troublesome symptoms and/or complications. This is the globally accepted Montreal definition of GERD. With the change of life style and dietary constituents, GERD has become one of the common gastrointestinal diseases in China, with high occurrence rate and recurrence rate. It influences the quality of life seriously and continuously, and accounts for high medical costs. However, people are still quite unaware of it. This article introduced its pathogenetic factors and pharmacotherapy.
