Abstract
Creep characteristics of two different adhesives were studied under different experimental conditions according to American ASTM standard D3535 and Canadian standard CAS 0112.9-04.The resin systems evaluated in this study were resorcinol phenol formaldehyde(RPF) and regular phenol formaldehyde(PF).The wood materials used were Korean Pine,larch,fir and birch.The average and maximum creep values of samples under a constant load were recorded.The results showed that the creep performance of RPF adhesive was superior to that of PF adhesive.For the same resin system,it was observed that the adhesive creep performance was better in the Korean pine and larch specimens than the fir and birch specimens.
