Abstract
Considering the lack of ground cover plant in the northern cities,Viola monbeigii introduced from Kongtong Mountain and cultivated in Dajiatai Nursery base of Lanzhou last year,and was investigated after turning green,with the statistics of phenological period,ornamental characters and breeding characters.The results showed that the introduced V.monbeigii grew and developed normally,with earlier flowering,longer blossoming period,green-up periods more than 200 days and the ornamental value at a high level.The seeds showed the highest germination percentage,germination energy,germination value and vigor index at 20℃;in addition,the division reproduction survived at the rate of 91%.Therefore,it was worthy to be utilized at landscape as ground cover plant in early spring in the northern cities.
