Abstract
The Loons is one of the masterpieces of Canadian female writer Margret Laurence.In this story Margret describes the tragic life of the Metis girl,Piquette from I —a white girl's perspective.This essay uses Frantz Omar Fanon' s theory of Black Skin,White Masks,to analyze how Piquette establishes a kind of colonial relation with the white in her mind,so that she is subject to the universal standard of white people and identify with it which twisted her mind and consciousness,and ultimately led to her tragic end.
