Abstract
Objective: To explore the germination of Epimedium Sagittatum Maxim seed basing on research of their morphology and anatomy. Methods: Seeds germination,morphological and anatomy observation were used to study characteristics of after-ripening E. Sagittatum seeds. Results: E. Sagittatum seeds manifest an obvious inhibition of germination in adaptive conditions. Though there are no difference on external morphology,its embryo differentiation does not complete during after-ripening. And many days stratification can promote the differentiation of embryo axis and cotyledons,then dormancy is broken. Conclusion: E. Sagittatum seeds manifest an obvious morpho-physiological dormancy(MPD),its germination needs stratification to finish embryo differentiation.
