Abstract
Cet article reconsidère la représentation des relations entre masculin et féminin dans la tragédie domestique de Thomas Heywood. Il propose que cette pièce critique les réseaux «homosociaux» et leur dépendance de la circulation du capital féminin. Par contre, une solution moralement acceptable est également offerte, grâce aux personnages des serviteurs, surtout Nick. À la différence de l'action axée sur les personnages principaux de Frankford et Mountford, l'action associée aux serviteurs souligne la façon dont les économies homosociales accumulent du capital, d'autant réelle que symbolique, au dépens des femmes.
