Abstract
Heat shock pretreatment is a main way to change the development pathway for microspore in eggplant.The enlarged microspore showed high FDA stain levels,among which the highest signal level was found in the 6 d-HS population,whereas the unenlarged microspore population showed lower FDA stain levels and underwent degeneration in the further culture steps.It is suggested that to obtain high-levelmicrospore morphogenesis,the enlarged microspore population should be isolated from the small ones for further in vitro culture.
