As a famous international sinologist and distinguished expert in the field of comparative education,Canadian Prof.Ruth Hayhoe(XU Mei-de as her Chinese name) devoted her past three decades to researching on China's higher education.From the perspective of culture and comparison,she made a clear and valuable explanation on the cultural crashes existed in the process of China's University learning from the west for a decade.More important,she was concerning about the process of China's reform and opening up and based on knowing China's traditional culture,she introduced China's higher education,universities and educators to the world by writing a series of works.And she also introduced the contributions of China's traditional culture to the world civilization.She hoped China's universities can provide a new mode of development to the world on the basis of confucian civilization in the future.
