Abstract
This study reported stem tip growing-tip differentiation and development of Elytrigia intermedia.Results indicated that the stem tip growing-tip differentiation of Elytrigia intermedia was a consecutive process divided into eight stages:vegetative stage,elongation stage,single ridge stage,spikelet protuberances stage,glume protuberances stage,floret differentiation stage,gynoecium and stamen initiation and heading stages.The growing-tip differentiation of Elytrigia intermedia had very obvious regularity:On the whole spike,the middle and upper parts of the spikelet developed first and then followed,in turn,both top and base.The base spikelet developed last.On the single spikelet,the base part of the floret developed first,and then base up gradually.
