In the men single figure skating competition of Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics,with Lysacek thrashing Plushenko by lower technique difficulty,the change of figure skating rule deeply aroused various opinions from many countries again.With the methods of documentary information and video observation,the paper has an analysis on the competitive results and video and discusses the technique,program and performance of the gold and silver medallists in men single figure skating competition in 2010 Winter Olympics and further quests the change essence and trend of figure skating rule.It thinks that the new judgement system has advanced the development of turns and steps technique but the development of jumps technique since 2004.It indicates that the rule will be changed again after 2010 for encouraging the development of jumps technique difficulty.The rule change is under the sports development of figure skating and further accelerates the development and is propitious to the development.
