Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of ice water analgesic after tonsillectomy with or without adenoidectomy in children aged 2-12 to reduce pain in the immediate postoperative period. Methods A prospective,randomised,double-blinded study design consisted of two groups.Pain assessment by nursing staff in the form of the validated modified Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Pain Scale after 15,30 and 60 min and 4 h genaral anesthesia awaking. Results Eighty-eight patients were recruited into the study with 42 allocated to receive ice water analgesia and 40 not to receive ice water analgesia after exclusion of those with incomplete data. The two groups were comparable for number, age, sex and diagnosis. The pain score at every time interval was lower in the group that had received the ice-lolly compared with the group that had not. This was statistically significant at 30(P=0.000) and 60 min(P=0.001).Conclusion The data suggest that ice water analgesia is a cheap, effective and safe method to reduce postoperative pain up to one hour following pediatric tonsillectomy.

Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
