Starting with the emergence of Chinese newspapers in Canada,this paper discusses their status quo against the backdrop of the global financial crisis,analyzes their advantages and challenges as well as the approaches to their future development and the enlightenment to the domestic newspapers.In the context of globalization,Chinese newspapers in Canada and China have their distinctive irreplaceability but they should ensure their position in the intense competition and popularize Chinese culture more successfully by improving themselves,cooperating with the other mass media and innovating in all possible aspects.
