To restrict fraud on letter of credit and protect international trading environment, the implement of the principle about exception on fraud on letter of credit breaks the interdependence of letter of credit, and combines the letter of credit business with fundamental contract business. Canada Supreme Court adjudicates one famous case that Bank of Nova Scodia appellant v. Angelica- Whitewear LTD. and Angelica Corporation Respondents, sums up the legislation and cases on the principle about exception on fraud on letter of credit. The paper introduces the case and analyzes the necessity to set up the principle about exception on fraud on letter of credit and the condition to implement it by combining international pact and current legislation, cases and legal theory, in order to make perfect legislation and jurisdiction about swindling by letter of credit.
