An Open Interoperable Model of Geospatial Information Service Based-on Web Services

Abstract
This paper analyzes the primary flaws existingin the current WebGISs, and points out that the insufficiency of the traditional WebGISs in geospatial data sharing and function interoperability among heterogeneous systems has become the biggest obstacle to prevent WebGISs from evolving. A 7-tiers Open Interoperable Model of Distributed Geospatial Information Service based on the emerging web technologies is proposed in this paper to resolve the issues of the present WebGISs. Finally, a complete discussion is made theoretically, which aims at constructing a fundamental informationframework based on distributed geospatial information service.
