By making a meticulous study on the scientific ideas transmitted by Science into China,this thesis tries to provide new materials for the study on science communication in modern history of China. From perspectives such asScience is intellectual and systemic,idea is the mother of facts,the socalled spirit is what appeared before science,science is the wheel which pushes the world forward rapidlyandScience is such vast knowledge that it should be categorized accordingly to make it more convenient to use,this thesis illustrates concepts like essence,categories,functions of science,scientific spirit and scientific ideas.We draw a conclusion that with its regular transmission of scientific ideas which were different from New Youth,Science,together with New Youth became two representative magazines respectively stood for science and democracy.And the modified knowledge of natural science people gained from New Youth was completed with Science which provided its readers systemic and detailed information of natural science.
