Urbanization is a cultural symbol for a nation or region.The urbanization process of Chinese cities bears significant administrative purpose.Luoyang is a heavy industry city,modern yet having a long history.As a center of Central Henan Urban Agglomeration,Luoyang has been profoundly impacted by the urbanization process.This paper discusses the dynamic evolution of urbanization in Luoyang with an Allometric-Growth Model,elaborating the relationship between the two influencing factors in the process of urbanization: population and built-up area.The result reveals significant powerful impetus of administrative purpose to the urbanization process of Luoyang.
