Abstract
The construction and development of small town has very important meanings to the economical and society development ,especially to solving the problems of peasant, agriculture and county. However, with the rapid development of the small town, some problems and contradictions about planning and construction in the Northwest Areas have gradually emerged and there are adverse effects on the healthy and sustainable development of small towns. Based on the analysis of the scientific connotation and the construction requirements of new-type urbanization, and the characteristics of northwest regional development, the article mainly reflects on the planning of small towns in northwest in recent years, and search a new planning path of small towns in the northwest rural area which is under the theory of new- type urbanization.
