This paper gives an overview on licorice.It summarized the approach of separating the chemical composition of licorice′s leaves,root and ground part.According to the pharmacological effect,ordinary prescription type and clinical application,it is considered that moisten lung,relieve cough and alleviate the drug property.A favorable treatment effect on disease of digestive system and cardiovascular system can be obtained.Introduced the application of licorice in the treatment of medical,the food industry and the field of daily chemicals.
