Abstract
The foundation settlement often leads to deformation of tank floating roof and affects normal operation of the floating pan,so the soft foundation must be improved to control the settlement.The composite foundation of CFG group piles is widely applied in foundation treatment for large storage tanks.Taking two 50 000 m 3 tanks at the central treatment station of an oilfield in Iraq for example,the settlement values of the tank with full water are observed and theoretically calculated.Results show that CFG group piles can obviously reduce the integral settlement of soft foundation.
