Abstract

To simulate the solution drought stress conditions with PEG-6000 to study the seed germination and seedling growth of Isatis indigotica Fort.The results showed that with different PEG concentrations,the germination of seeds could be retarded.The germination rate(GR),germination potential(GP),germination index(GI),drought resistant index,germ fresh weight decreased obviously with the increase of the drought stress,the variation of germ dry weight was small when PEG concentration was less than 15%,and decreased obviously while PEG concentration was higher than 15%.The proline content of the whole plant showed an upward trend,MDA content increased the first but then decreased.The growth of radicle and hypocotyl was influenced by drought stress after germination.
