Abstract

The protective effects of calcium chloride wetting and sodium carbonate stress on dry weight, chloro-phyll content, permeability of plasma membrane, root vitality, proline content and water potential of Zea mays L. are studied. The results showed that with calcium chloride wetting, the change of chlorophyll content, permeability of plasma membrane and root vitality are lower than water wetting. The proline content and dry weight are more than water wetting. The water potential is lower than water wetting. The experimental results showed: calcium chloride wetting can improve the salt resistance of Zea mays L. on trefoil stage.
