Studies on Biological Characteristics and Germination of Verbena hybrida Seed

Abstract
The research was done on biological characteristics and germination conditions of Verbena hybrida seed by morphdogical structure,seed germination test,environment factors and treat methods.The results showed that:The seed was erect,dicotyledonous and no endosperm,which dormancy stage was one week.The germination effect was better than others which was seed in grass peat with 15 to 5℃ temperature under the conditions of full darkness.The germination percentage of verbena seeds could be improved with different treatments,the best one was soaking seeds with water last 3 hours,then treat with 0.1% H2O2 for 5 hours,the germination percentage could be up to 73.8%.
