The MADS-box genes play many roles during the development of the flowers and ovules.The catolog of MADS-box gene family and struction charactization of transcriptional factors encoded by the genes family were showed.The functions to the ovule development in the petunia and the Arabidopsis were reviewed,which included FBP 7、FBP 11、STK、AG、SHP and SEP,also included OsMADS 13 in the Rice.The research prospects of the genes family is also present.
