Abstract

Based on the author's own experience in Canada,this paper introduces English Teaching in Higher Vocational College of Canada and explores its implications for higher vocational English teaching in China,followed by giving some suggestions for English teaching reform.The suggestions are as follows.(1) Teaching should be based on a detailed and thorough needs analysis.(2) Fixed teaching model is inappropriate for different students.(3) Attention should be given to autonomous learning.
