Abstract
Proposed the study of the process of urban hierarchy and functions by using computer simulation method. Based on CAS theory and central place theory, established complex adaptive system model with regnest and service pattern, the process of urban hierarchy and functions is simulated in two ?dimensions. The experiment results, showed that the magnitude of threshold is a key factor to the form of urban rank and function. The functions of advanced city contain all the functions of lower level city. Central place theory is validated with microcosmic way. Meanwhile, the established model is proved efficiently in the research of central place theory.
