Abstract
Since WHO defined infectious atypical pneumonia as severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), scientists and experts from 13 first-class laboratories of China, Germany, Canada, France, America, Hong Kong, Japan, Holand, England and Singapore have been cooperated and soon made progress in pathogen aspect. They offered reliable scientific evidences for effective prevention and successful treatment of SARS. This paper introduced the progress of gene sequencing, comparison of complete genomic sequences, analysis of proteinomic sequences, isolation and identification of SARS virus, stability and resistance tests of SARS virus.
