Abstract
The low educational level of coal miner has always been deemed as one of the major restrictions for safety production in Chinese coal industry.Controversy also arises when the serious accidents are ascribed to the coal miner for their bad educational background.On the basis of extensive literature survey,comparison for educational level of coal miner was conducted between Chinese and America,Canada and South Africa,as well as workers in other internal industries.The results showed that the average educational years are 3.3 years less than external coal miners,and equivalent to other internal high risk industries,but lower than the average level of nationwide labor force.Site investigation was carried out to find the impact of educational level on safety.It showed positive correlation between the educational level of employee and the safety culture of the enterprise and they were reciprocal causation.
