Abstract
The blackout,which occurred in the northeast of US. and Canada in the East Interconnection on Aug 14,is one of the most serious outages in history.Through the analysis of the whole process of the outage,the conclusion was made that large power flow reverse and the voltage collapse followed is the major cause of the outage.Some lessons which Should be learned from the outage were also discussed.Furthermore,some ideas,combining the situation of East China Grid,especially the solution process on Ang 29th and Sept 4 power grid emergency events in East China,were presented from the view of technology and management respectively.In the end,several valuable suggestion on how to ensure the security and improve the stablility of East China Grid was given.
