Numerical Simulation of Wind Pressure and Wind Environment of a Commercial Quarter

Abstract
A simplified physical model was setup according to a commercial quarter in Shanghai and 3D numerical simulation of wind field around the quarter was studied on the basis of Fluent 6.CAARC standard model was used to verify the feasibility of numerical method.The wind field around the quarter as well as the buildings was simulated and the bottle-neck wind effect was analyzed due to T-shape narrow position.Finally,the influences of change in factors like space mterval and location on the wind flow and wind load were discussed.The results suggest that the bottle-neck wind effect and wind environment at pedestrian elevation be involved in city planning of a commercial quarter.
