Yumen oilfield Yaxi 102 well is located at Ya506fault block of Qingxi depressed Yaxi nosing structure,the formation in the block is very hard,especially in the Cretaceous Xiagou formation,the abrasive property of bit is very strong,so,the drilling speed was seriously affected. To improve drilling efficiency in deep well and hard formation,and reduce complex accident,the TorkBuster developed by Canada United Diamond Company and Ulterra Co. was used. The TorkBuster could change the motion state of PDC bit,and improve the breaking rock efficiency of PDC bit. Field application in well Yaxi 102showed that the TorkBuster increased the ROP of Xiagou group formation compared with adjacent well data,the highest ROP of3. 97m / h was obtained in the Xiagou formation of Yumen Oilfield.
