Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

We report on a comprehensive all-sky search for periodic gravitational waves in the frequency band 100--1500 Hz and with a frequency time derivative in the range of $[\ensuremath{-}1.18,+1.00]\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}1{0}^{\ensuremath{-}8}\text{ }\mathrm{Hz}/\mathrm{s}$. Such a signal could be produced by a nearby spinning and slightly nonaxisymmetric isolated neutron star in our galaxy. This search uses the data from the initial LIGO sixth science run and covers a larger parameter space with respect to any past search. A Loosely Coherent detection pipeline was applied to follow up weak outliers in both Gaussian (95% recovery rate) and non-Gaussian (75% recovery rate) bands. No gravitational wave signals were observed, and upper limits were placed on their strength. Our smallest upper limit on worst-case (linearly polarized) strain amplitude ${h}_{0}$ is $9.7\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}1{0}^{\ensuremath{-}25}$ near 169 Hz, while at the high end of our frequency range we achieve a worst-case upper limit of $5.5\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}1{0}^{\ensuremath{-}24}$. Both cases refer to all sky locations and entire range of frequency derivative values.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
