The subject of 242nd Xangshan Science Conference was Frontier Issues on Astronautics and Light Barrier.We know in 1905,A.Einstein brought forward the confidence that velocities greater than that of have no possibility of existence.It is so-called light barrier.But in this conference Song Jian says,this idea only may be hypothesized or guessed about the movement without any information about it and nothing could be seen.Now,a flight within the solar system is called space-flight and beyond the solar system is astronautic.In this century the first astronauts will travel beyond the solar system and come back safely.To fly out of the solar system has long been the ambition of mankind.But many paramount theoretical and technical problems have to be solved before that.As a consequence,the speed of travel to be increased to the magnitude of the speed of or,if possible,faster than the speed of light. In this paper,we try to remember the achievements in 242nd Xangshan Science Conference before 10 years,and we discuss the research works of faster-than-light subject in decade of 2003~2013.First,we compare the present light barrier problem with the past sonic barrier problem,the results of the compressible fluid mechanics can be used to the faster-than-light research,the developments of the aerodynamics will give good references for break through the barrier.Second,we discuss the velocity of information,and in past decade the negative group velocity(NGV) was founded by experiments of several scientists,moreover it is accepted that the NGV is faster than the speed c.The group velocity faster-than-light experiments was great success,from the viewpoint of wave-particle duality,we must try to discover the meta-electrons moved superluminality.We will consider to check the accelerator,and the particle loses energy to accelerates after through the potential barrier.It is similar to the break through sound barrier,such as the Laval tube.…… We also discuss the Alcubierre's warp drive engine,the way was modified the spacetime that allows a spaceship to travel with speed of faster-than-light.Although it is a hypothesis only,but in Sep.19/2012 the 《Time》 weekly magazine says:NASA actually working on faster-than-light warp drive.And it is highly important for us to a correct conclusion:the faster-than-light astronautic flight be approved by the NASA. According to the developments of faster-than-light research in past decade,there are indications that the newly subject of Superluminal Light Physics is an established fact.Furthermore,we discuss the definition of the velocity in vacuum c,including the problem of light-speed constancy.
